Freedom of speech means the government can't tell you what you can and cannot say, within reason. Death threats, calling in hits on people, inciting violence, threatening politicians, that stuff isn't free speech. Everything else is, even if it offends, *especially* if it offends. Nobody has the right to not be offended.

Interesting format! It made me think about the way people have opinions. It seems to me moral questions like these usually have relatively independant dimensions. For example about prostitution how safe it is for the women, if its also bad for the clients, what impact it has on relationships and society in general, how much coercion there is. Usually people argueing for or against the general claim, evaluate each of those aspects in favor of their general opinion. In this example the person who is pro prostitution often says its safer for the women, its ok for the clients, its effect on society is not as bad and the coercion is not so much, while the person against it claims it to be unsafe, bad for the client, bad for society and with much coercion. Rarely I hear one person saying some aspects would be in favor of a general claim and some against it, and then weighing up all of them, they came to the conclusion. I always thought this process would be the way people form opinions. Now I doubt that most people, including myself, really do this, it seems more like we often have already an opinion, maybe because one aspect is the most important to us and this aspect decides it for us and then all the other aspects we see in this light and evaluate them in such a way that it supports our general claim. Does someone understand what I mean and what do you think about this?

If trans women were women, you wouldn't have to call them trans women, you would just call them women. Men are definitely more funny than women. When you ask women what their number one trait of a potential partner is, beyond being taller than she and having a stable income, having a good sense of humor wins. Always. Very few men list that as their number one trait for a female partner.

I disagree with Gurwinder about Gemini. I think he is attributing to Google far too much good faith here. As someone who works at one of these giant tech companies, I can assure you they tested Gemini, and with the same inputs that caused outrage. The fact that it passed testing tells us this is how they wanted it to work, and they rolled it back because they have their heads so far up their asses that they really thought users would be ok with this.

You say that our freedom of religion is contingent to the work that you do. Have you ever considered that it’s the other way around? That it is freedom of religion that allows you to do the work that YOU do? Freedom of religion also gives you the freedom NOT to believe. I have seen the “New Aethist” (which I think you are part of) talk down and criticize religious people for over 20 years. You don’t think the active pursuit to destroy Christianity in the West has led to the insanity that we are seeing now? You say that we should support you (which I agree, we should) if we want to continue doing our “Jesus thing.” But, it is your 20 year attack on Christianity that has forced you into the work you are doing now. This is why people like Richard Dawkins are calling themself a “cultural Christian.” You all worked so hard to destroy something without knowing how special it was. And now you don’t like what it has been replaced with. You usually seem open, honest, & respectful. I think this is the first time I have seen you as prideful.
